Sanctioned by the Malta Tennis Federation, and organised alongside the Marsa Tennis Section, we are proud to present the Alfa Romeo Malta Open Padel Championships to be staged at the Marsa Sports Club.

The Alfa Romeo Malta Open Padel Championships will include the following categories on the below dates:

Sunday 16th April : Women’s (A & B)
Sat 22nd & Sun 23rd April : Mixed (A & B)
Sat 29th, Sun 30th April : Men’s (A & B)

Monday 1st May : FINAL’s DAY (Men’s A Semi-Finals & Final, Women’s A Final & Mixed A Final)

Prize Money: EUR2500.00

Entry Fee: EUR25.00 per person which includes:
– Practice session on Marsa courts (on tournament days before play)
– Welcome pack
– Reserved seats for Final’s Day
– Discount on Player’s Lunch & Drinks served by the courts on Final’s Day
– Minimum of 3 matches (group qualifiers with 4 to 6 matches in total)

Venue Information

The tournament will played on the Padelgalis built courts at the Marsa Sports Club: the only official World Padel Tour sanctioned courts in Malta: both courts having full 3 metre wide run off areas and broadcast quality floodlights.

Permanent seating for 500 spectators, court side bar, a player’s lunch (on Final’s Day) music and scoreboards : we aim to present an atmosphere and a setting that is worthy of the first ever official Malta Padel Open.

Player’s and their guests will also be welcome to use the bar, restaurant and changing facilities of the club house and can relax in the beautiful Marsa Sports Club grounds and gardens throughout tournament days.

Tournament Capacity is as follows:
Men’s A : 16 pairs
Men’s B : 16 pairs
Mixed A : 16 pairs
Mixed B : 16 pairs
Ladies A : 8 pairs
Ladies B : 8 pairs

Entry Deadline Date is 7 days before the start date of each category (but categories may close before that if they reach capacity)

Playing Conditions

All group matches and quarter-finals will be played as best of 3 set matches (with a championship tie-break to 10 at one set all. The championship tie-break must be won by 2 clear points).

All semi-final matches will be played as full, best of 3 set matches (with a full 3rd set played at 1 set all)

Killer / Tie point will be played on the 2nd deuce for all matches.

The Marsa Tennis Section will appoint a seeding committee whose decisions on all seedings for the tournament will be final.
